Shohei Ohtani is a legitimate two-way player in an era where they are essentially unheard of, and we are already hearing the Los Angeles Angels star mentioned in the same class as Babe Ruth when it comes to statistics.
In his first at-bat in front of the home fans in Anaheim on Tuesday, Ohtani belted a three-run home run to give the Angels an early lead over the Cleveland Indians. Just two days prior, the 23-year-old threw six innings of three-hit ball and earned his first ever MLB win. The last player to accomplish a similar feat was none other than The Babe.
Before Ohtani, last player to win a game and hit a first-inning HR within the next 2 days was Babe Ruth on June 13-14, 1921.

Are we saying Ohtani is the next Babe Ruth? Of course not, but the comparison gives you an idea of just how rare his skill set is.
Between the homer on Tuesday and how hard he threw in his MLB debut on the mound, we have already seen just how special of a player Ohtani is. If he can put it all together, he could be a legitimate franchise changer.
