Steve Cishek suffers bone bruise in batting practice accident
Chicago Cubs pitcher Steve Cishek appears to have avoided the worst in a batting practice incident on Wednesday.
Cishek was hit by a baseball and had to be carted off the field during pregame batting practice, but the Cubs are calling it a bad bruise. His status for Wednesday’s game is unclear.

Word from the clubhouse on Cishek: was hit on the inside of the right knee. Appeared to no more than a bad bruise and his availability for today's game was to be determined.

Considering how much pain Cishek appeared to be in, this seems like a win for the Cubs. Scary things can happen in batting practice, and this is a reminder of that.
