Terry Collins and Daniel Murphy did something really cool during the “Stand up to Cancer” portion of the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday.
As they have been doing for a few years, MLB/FOX took a few minutes of the All-Star Game to have everyone in the stadium participate in “stand up to cancer” by holding up signs supporting someone who is/has fought cancer. This came after the 5th inning of play, and the names on the card for Terry Collins, Tim Teufel and Daniel Murphy were the same: Mets GM Sandy Alderson.
Here’s Teufel, the Mets’ third base coach:

And here’s Murphy, who despite leaving the Mets for the Nats in free agency, still supported his former GM:

Alderson was diagnosed with an undisclosed yet treatable form of cancer last season. He has undergone chemotherapy and surgery and said in May he was feeling well.
