Tigers embracing ‘Rally Goose’ after scoreboard mishap
The Detroit Tigers’ surprise visitor to Wednesday’s game has already ascended into Hall of Fame meme territory.
During Detroit’s 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, a rogue goose flew onto the field in the top of the sixth inning, prompting stadium personnel to try and chase it away. As the feathery fellow attempted to make his escape, he slammed right into a scoreboard and plummeted to the seats below.

The goose was ultimately announced to be OK however and was soon released outside of Comerica Park.
We've been informed the goose is healthy and has been released outside the ballpark. #RallyGoose

On Thursday, the Tigers and Angels played again, and the former paid tribute to the “Rally Goose” by bringing a fake goose into the dugout with them.

Since the #RallyGoose took the field, less than 17 hours ago, the Tigers have outscored their opponent 10-1 and lost the goose, Iglesias, Candelario and Carpenter to injuries.

Birds have certainly had a knack for making headlines in baseball this season, and give credit to the Tigers for embracing it instead of crying fowl.
