Tim Anderson on Sunday night broke his silence over the fight that left him knocked down and embarrassed a day earlier.

The Chicago White Sox shortstop sent several tweets, with many containing profanity. The tweets were Anderson’s first public comments since he was knocked down and embarrassed by Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez during an on-field fight Saturday (video here).

Anderson sent nine tweets. They have been combined into a paragraph below, with the profanity edited out.

“You know all this happening for a reason … we staying focus with this s–t .. been going through this s–t for a min … keep kicking on me while I’m down.. alotta mf been switching up too … and who the f–k gave losers opinions.. y’all got me f–ked up fr fr.. hope you picking up what I’m putting down too..The Picture Bigger …,” Anderson wrote.

“Mf” is short for “motherf—er,” while “fr fr” means “for real for real.”

Anderson appears to be trying to work through the public embarrassment he is enduring after being knocked down in a fight he initiated. He also seems to feel betrayed by people he feels are switching allegiances on him.

Ramirez said he felt Anderson had been disrespectful, which is what preceded their fight. Anderson has since been the target of jokes and was even part of a great radio call of the event.

Anderson and Ramirez are bracing for discipline from MLB over the fight.
