Todd FrazierNew Jersey native Todd Frazier changed his walk-up at-bat music to the theme song from “The Sopranos” on Thursday in honor of actor James Gandolfini, who died on Wednesday at the age of 51.

Frazier, who played on the Toms River team that won the 1998 Little League World Series and later starred at Rutgers, announced his intention to honor Gandolfini well before Thursday’s Cincinnati Reds-Pittsburgh Pirates game.

In honor of james gandolfini (tony soprano)who suddenly passed away Illbe using his song at bat during game 2morrow #jerseyboy #rutgers #rip

Frazier later tweeted a picture of The Star-Ledger’s cover, which featured an article on Gandolfini:

Frazier went 1-for-3 in the Reds’ 5-3 loss to the Pirates. Respect to him for the thoughtful gesture.
