Tom Brady sends well wishes to David Ortiz in wake of shooting
David Ortiz has been on the receiving end of prayers and positive thoughts from all across the sports world since he was shot in the Dominican Republic on Sunday night, and some of those came from a man who shares more in common with the Boston Red Sox legend than most.
On Monday, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took to Twitter to send well wishes to Ortiz.

Ortiz and Brady have formed a close relationship over the years for obvious reasons. Both are Boston sports icons who led their teams to multiple championships, and they understand everything that goes along with being royalty in the eyes of fans. In fact, Brady even tried to talk Ortiz out of retiring a few years back.
Fortunately, Ortiz is in stable condition after he was shot in the back in his hometown of Santo Domingo. He suffered damage to some organs and had to undergo extensive surgery, but the plan was to transfer him to Boston at some point Monday afternoon. The man who allegedly shot Ortiz was beaten by people who were at the location where the incident took place and later detained by police.
