The Kansas City Royals are calling up top prospect Jac Caglianone, and he had the perfect reaction to being informed of the news.
Caglianone, one of the top prospects in baseball, was called up after just 79 minor league games. He was informed of the decision by Triple-A manager Mike Jirschele of the Omaha Storm Chasers, who led Caglianone on for about a half a minute before breaking the news.
Caglianone was briefly overwhelmed by the decision before offering up a perfect 6-word quote.
“I need to call my dad,” the 22-year-old said.
Go call your dad, Jac! pic.twitter.com/AtWHPDmAzW

The 6th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Caglianone slugged 17 home runs in just 79 minor league games in the Kansas City system, and established himself as one of the best hitting prospects in the entire sport. He has hit six home runs in 12 games at Triple-A, and with the Royals struggling to generate power at the MLB level, the franchise decided to make the move now.
Caglianone is expected to join the team for their upcoming road trip starting on Tuesday. His call-up has already excited the fanbase, and now he will look to boost a Royals team that is an underwhelming 31-29 after making the playoffs last season.
