Report: Trevor Story could be dealing with significant elbow injury
Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story left Monday night’s game with what was described as elbow soreness, and it sounds like that may have been putting it lightly.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic is reporting that Story may have suffered UCL damage to to his right elbow.

Elbow issues are obviously much more concerning with pitchers than hitters, as we recently saw with Shohei Ohtani. The Los Angeles Angels phenom is unable to pitch for the remainder of the season because of a UCL injury, but he already had one monster game while playing through it and should be able to play as a full-time hitter next season.
Even if Story doesn’t need to be shut down, the injury could not come at a worse time for the Rockies. The 25-year-old has had an outstanding season with a .288 batting average, 33 home runs and 102 RBI. He’s a big part of the reason Colorado is just a half-game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and the same back of the St. Louis Cardinals in the wild card.
Story showed us the type of power he has with a monster home run earlier this month, and replacing his production down the stretch would be nearly impossible for the Rockies.
