They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and that certainly seems to be the case with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Guerrero Jr., the son of former MLB superstar Vladimir Guerrero, is currently playing in the Toronto Blue Jays system for Low-A Lansing. After returning to the lineup earlier this week following a “tweaked” knee on Saturday, the 18-year-old picked up right where he left off at the plate. Vladdy Jr. belted his fourth homer of the season on Wednesday. Check out the numbers he has put up thus far:
Another Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home run today in Low-A. Vladdy Jr. hitting .342/.457/.579 with 4 HR, 14 BB, 12 SO in 94 plate appearances.

Again, this is an 18-year-old kid. The Blue Jays have to be salivating over his potential. As we showed you when he was only 15, Guerrero Jr. is capable of driving the ball a long way just like his old man.
The elder Guerrero was a nine-time All-Star and batted .318 for his career with 449 home runs. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, but young Vladdy appears well on his way.
