Vladimir Guerrero Jr. not being called up as early as previously reported
Toronto Blue Jays fans are anxiously awaiting the day that the team finally calls up young slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr., but they are going to have to wait a little longer than was reported last week.
Dominican journalist Hector Gomez was told that the Blue Jays were planning to have Guerrero make his MLB debut against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, but Bob Nightengale of USA Today says that is not the plan.
The #Bluejays are awfully close to promoting Vlad Guerrero Jr, but are NOT bringing him up Tuesday to debut against the #SFGiants in Toronto. The wait continues.

Guerrero has been destroying the ball in the minors once again this season, and it is only a matter of time before he is inserted into the Blue Jays’ lineup. The team could be playing it safe with him as he recovers from an oblique strain he suffered in spring training, though the injury has not appeared to bother him.
Through nine games in the minors this year, Guerrero is hitting .344 with two home runs, seven RBI and an OPS of 1.026. He hit .381 with 20 home runs, 78 RBI and a 1.073 OPS in 95 games last year, and a comparison of his numbers versus his father’s numbers before the Hall of Famer made his MLB debut are astonishing. MLB fans should see Guerrero Jr. before long.
