The New York Yankees may have left behind their offense at Fenway Park.
The Yankees have failed to score a run for 29 consecutive innings. Their last run came during the 9th inning of the team’s 4-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox four games ago.
On Tuesday, Yankees first baseman Paul Goldschmidt had a chance to put an end to the drought with one out left against the Los Angeles Angels at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. He came up to the plate with a runner in scoring position and worked a full count against Angels reliever Hunter Strickland. Goldschmidt struck out swinging on a slider out of the zone as New York lost 4-0.
The Yankees just got shut out AGAIN.

After three straight goose eggs on the scoring column, including an 11-inning shutout loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night, fans began piling on the Yankees over their offensive futility. Fans gave the Bronx Bombers the good, old-fashioned meme treatment.

The Yankees were shut out for three consecutive games for the first time since September 2016. CC Sabathia was on the mound and Jacoby Ellsbury was in the lineup the last time it happened.
Despite the five-game losing streak, the Yankees still sit atop the AL East with a 42-30 record. But if things don’t turn around soon, longtime manager Aaron Boone could start to feel his seat getting warmer.
