Yu Darvish is looking forward to the Chicago Cubs’ first series of the season, but not for the reason you’d expect.
Darvish joked after throwing a simulated game on Friday that he wants to hit a few of his ex-Texas Rangers teammates with a pitch. He mentioned Joey Gallo and Rougned Odor.
Darvish says he’s looking forward to facing old Texas teammates in first series. “Yeah I want to hit a couple guys,” he deadpanned. “Gallo and Odor.”

Darvish began his career with the Rangers and remained with the team until being traded to the Dodgers during the 2017 season. MLB umpires need to be on high alert for shenanigans from Darvish when the teams meet.
The Cubs only have 3.5 weeks of Spring Training games left before opening their season on March 28 against the Rangers. The teams will play a 3-game series.
