Angel Reese ejected after disrespectful gesture to referee
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese did little to quiet her detractors during her team’s Tuesday contest against the New York Liberty.
Reese got herself ejected with just 2:31 left in the contest at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. The Liberty were up 83-71 when Reese was called for a loose ball foul while battling for a rebound.
Reese took exception to the call made by referee Charles Watson. She appeared to mutter some choice words and waved off Watson as she walked away from the veteran referee.

Reese exited the contest with 13 points and 10 rebounds on 3/12 shooting from the field.
The Sky had a 66-65 lead heading into the final quarter. But Chicago was outscored 23-9 in the fourth quarter en route to an 88-75 loss.
Reese has been a trending topic lately for reasons beyond her basketball ability. The LSU alum recently went viral on social media for her reaction to the recent Caitlin Clark-Chennedy Carter fiasco. Reese also drew a ton of criticism for her comments about Clark a few days later.
The Sky selected Reese seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She has averaged 10.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over her first 8 career games as a professional.
