Ayesha Curry fires back at Stephen A. Smith
Ayesha Curry fired back at Stephen A. Smith over his criticism of her on “First Take” Friday morning.
Smith was critical of Curry for accusing the NBA of being “rigged” after the Warriors lost Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. Smith said Ayesha had “stepped out of line, stepped out of pocket,” with her accusations.
“She was wrong. It came across as very classless. That’s a highly incendiary remark,” said Smith. “To accuse to the NBA Finals of being rigged because your husband got ejected from a game for the first time in his career. Nobody heard the word ‘rigged’ when he won league MVP honors twice. Nobody heard the word ‘rigged’ last year when he won the NBA Finals.”
Smith also brought up how Ayesha and Steph’s mom Sonya blew kisses to the Cleveland crowd after Steph’s ejection (video here).
Smith then went on to compare Ayesha with LeBron James’ wife, Savannah, who avoids the public eye and has rarely been involved in controversies.
This is @stephenasmith, a man with a big soapbox, saying flat out loud that women should know their place. Jesus. pic.twitter.com/Kzpjyny08K

Ayesha Curry did not appreciate the comparison and responded with this tweet:
@stephenasmith why are you putting two women against each other like that? You're the one that's out of pocket.
