Blazers phenom involved in car accident in ride share
A young Portland Trail Blazers player apparently had a scary moment while in a ride share this week.
Blazers writer Sean Highkin reported Saturday that Blazers guard Scoot Henderson was involved in a minor car accident on Thursday afternoon while in Houston. Henderson was reportedly in a ride share that got rear-ended but is said to be “fine.”
The Blazers played the Rockets in Houston on Friday (losing 116-88) and will again play them in Houston on Saturday. Henderson did not play on Friday and is also listed as out for Saturday due to a “back strain” but is considered day-to-day with the injury, Highkin adds.
The 20-year-old Henderson was Portland’s No. 3 overall pick in 2023 is averaging 11.3 points and 5.2 assists per game this season after averaging 14.0 points and 5.4 assists per game last season. Though he continues to struggle with efficiency and turnovers, Henderson has shown glimpses of the talent that could turn him into a core building block for the Blazers and is already making big moves off the court as well.
