Bryan Colangelo called Joel Embiid to deny everything
GM Bryan Colangelo wasted no time trying to do some damage control with the Philadelphia 76ers’ biggest star player.
Shortly after The Ringer published a story on Tuesday accusing Colangelo of criticizing his own team from one of several secret Twitter accounts, it was reported that Colangelo had called Joel Embiid to deny everything.
Sixers All-Star center Joel Embiid tells ESPN on Bryan Colangelo: “I talked to him and he said that he didn’t say that. He called me just to deny the story. Gotta believe him until proven otherwise. If true though, that would be really bad.”

“I talked to him and he said that he didn’t say that. He called me just to deny the story. Gotta believe him until proven otherwise. If true though, that would be really bad,” Embiid said via ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Embiid was one of the 76ers players who was targeted by the secret Twitter accounts for being “lazy” and “selfish.”
Embiid may have said in his message to ESPN that he believes Colangelo for now, but that didn’t stop him from getting in on the fun with a perfect tweet.
