Carmelo Anthony wants Hawks jersey with his name on it
Carmelo Anthony is hoping to commemorate his legendary career with the Atlanta Hawks.
Anthony was in attendance at USA Basketball minicamp on Friday and told veteran basketball writer Chris Sheridan that he was looking to cop a Hawks jersey with his name on the back of it.
Just spoke briefly with 'Melo. He is trying to get his hands on a #Hawks jersey with his name on the back.

There is, of course, some ironic humor involved here. By technicality, the ten-time All-Star was traded to Atlanta by the Oklahoma City Thunder in a salary-dumping move. He is expected to be waived by the Hawks however and proceed to sign with the Houston Rockets, his preferred destination.
Anthony probably won’t be getting a tribute video from the Hawks, so getting his own jersey from them figures to be the next best thing. Who knows, it might even be a bigger collector’s item than this other similarly rare jersey.
