Cause of death revealed for former Lakers guard Darius Morris

New details are emerging this week on the death of ex-Los Angeles Lakers guard Darius Morris.

TMZ Sports reported Saturday on Morris’ cause of death, as per the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s death investigation summary. According to the report, the official cause of death was coronary artery disease. Drug and alcohol use, namely, the effects of cocaine, hydrocodone, and ethanol, was also said to be a significant factor in the death of Morris.

A four-year NBA veteran who played from 2011-15, Morris was just 33 years old when he died last month. Also a former standout for the University of Michigan, Morris averaged 3.3 points and 1.4 assists a game for his NBA career and later went on to play overseas in China, Russia, and France.
