Charles Oakley calls out Charles Barkley for advocating violence
Former NBA tough guy Charles Oakley called out TV tough guy Charles Barkley for advocating violence on national television.
The Cleveland Cavaliers crushed the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series on Wednesday 123-98. They set a record for three-pointers made in a game in the contest, thanks in part to a bevy of players bombing threes towards the end, likely in search of the record.
The way the Cavs continued to shoot threes in hopes of setting the record did not sit well with Barkley, who after the game suggested the Hawks should have gotten physical with the Cavs in retaliation:

Barkley’s plea to the Hawks to “take ’em out” did not sit well with Oakley, who was a true enforcer in his day.
Charles Barkley ,you better stop talking s*** about Cleveland you was never tough you hide behind TNT

Oakley’s tweet was shown on TNT, leading to this response from Barkley:

Oakley may have a personal dislike of Barkley, but that has nothing to do with whether or not his point was fair. If you think Barkley was out of line for suggestion the Hawks commit some intentionally hard/flagrant fouls on the Cavs to send a message, you would be in good company.
