Charlotte Hornets in serious talks to trade for Marc Gasol
The NBA trade deadline is two days away, and the Charlotte Hornets may have their eyes on a big move.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania said on Tuesday that the Memphis Grizzlies and Hornets are in “strong talks” for a trade of Gasol.

Memphis plans to hold Gasol out for Tuesday’s games as they continue trade talks.
The Hornets have long been viewed as a prime trade destination for Gasol. They have been without starting center Cody Zeller due to a hand injury and could use a big man like Gasol.
Terms of a trade have not been revealed, but Nicolas Batum and Willy Hernangomez could make sense as trade pieces.
Gasol, 34, has a $25 million player option next season, while Kemba Walker is a free agent after the season. The Hornets would be taking a risk by acquiring Gasol and hoping that making the playoffs could convince the two to remain together.
