Chris Bosh finally at peace with retirement
Chris Bosh’s NBA career ended suddenly and unfairly, but he has finally come to terms with life after basketball.
During an Instagram Live broadcast this week, the former Miami Heat star said that he no longer has any thoughts about a potential comeback.
“Basketball, man, I did it,” said Bosh, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “I have fully expressed myself in the art.”
The 36-year-old added that he worked out as recently as a year ago with then-Heat assistant Juwan Howard, only for his knee to swell up the very next day.
Bosh, who made 11 career All-Star teams and was an indispensable part of Miami’s back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013, had to retire early due to continued issues with blood clotting. He last played in Feb. 2016 but was still holding out hope for a comeback in more recent years. Bosh did officially retire last year though and got his No. 1 jersey retired by the Heat.
It is hard to blame Bosh given how abruptly basketball was taken away from him and how well his game would have suited the modern era of floor spacing and downsizing. Bosh has since moved on to other pursuits however and seems to have made the transition to his post-playing career very nicely.
