Clipper guard takes apparent swipe at Jazz over their playoff failures
The Utah Jazz’s last conference finals appearance came with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer riding shotgun. One of Utah’s rivals seems to be keenly aware of it too.
During an Instagram Live session over the weekend with Bruce Brown of the Brooklyn Nets, LA Clippers guard Terance Mann took an apparent swipe at the Jazz over their playoff shortcomings. Mann and the Clippers got blasted by the Jazz in Utah on Friday by the final of 121-92.
“I don’t think I ever won there in the regular season,” said Mann. “You know that they’re regular season animals.”

Regular season success and postseason failure has indeed been the story for the Jazz over the last several seasons. They are on track to win 50 games this year for the third straight time (not counting the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season) and still have not made it past the second round since 2007.
Mann has actually earned the right to talk a bit of trash. After all, he helped eliminate the Jazz in the second round last season with the performance of his life in an elimination Game 6. Mann poured in a career-high 39 points to ignite a 25-point second half comeback on Utah, getting basket after basket with defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert on him. As for Mann taking a shot at the Jazz, he is not quite the first Clippers player to do so either.
