Report: Clippers have made Blake Griffin available, reached out to Nuggets

Blake Griffin may be much more available than the Los Angeles Clippers want us to believe.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the Clippers have made Griffin available for trade, and Denver, Boston, and Atlanta could stand to be interested. Isola also believes a Griffin-for-Carmelo Anthony trade would make sense, but not until summer.

As for the link to the Nuggets, there may be smoke there. According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, via Dan Feldman of ProBasketballTalk, the Clippers offered Griffin to the Nuggets for a package of players headlined by Danilo Gallinari.

“I was told that the Clippers actually called Denver and offered Blake Griffin and Lance Stephenson for Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, Nikola Jokic and Will Barton. And Denver turned it down,” Broussard said on SportsCenter. “Doc Rivers, I talked to him about that very deal. He said not true. There’s no way Blake’s getting traded.”

Talks with Denver had already been reported, and the Clippers have stuck to their public message that Griffin isn’t getting moved. That said, these rumors aren’t going away, and haven’t ever since his fight with a team employee led to him breaking his hand.
