The Clippers have gone 15-4 without Griffin in the lineup, so some may think that the team believes they’d be okay without him and would look at possible returns. Ultimately, though, this sounds like simple due diligence. Teams may be sensing that the Clippers are annoyed with Griffin and have called to gauge his availability. The Clippers may well be annoyed, but not enough to trade him, at least not now.
Griffin is current in hot water after punching the team’s equipment manager and breaking his hand. The team may be more open to a hypothetical Griffin-Kevin Durant swap in the summer, but for now, Blake isn’t going anywhere.
