Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer spared no expense to get his team extra support for their do-or-die game on Saturday night.

The Clippers went on the road for Game 7 of their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo. A handful of Clippers fans were in attendance, largely thanks to Ballmer’s deep pockets.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the Clippers “flew out” around 120 die-hard fans to Denver to cheer for the team. The fans were members of the Clippers’ rabid fan section called “The Wall” in the Intuit Dome. The fans reportedly flew on a chartered plane and got free tickets to Game 7.

The seats were not high up in the arena either. Ballmer managed to get his hands on a huge section next to the Clippers’ bench. Given the magnitude of the contest, getting excellent seats for that many fans was surely a huge expense on the Clippers’ part.

One important thing to point out. These seats are very good seats right next to the Clippers bench and under the basket the Nuggets will likely shoot on in the second half. No idea how Ballmer managed to get these particular seats away from Nuggets fans. But it couldn’t have been… https://t.co/7AjjDZBCOS

The Clippers had one of the best home records in the NBA this season. They were one of just four teams to tally at least 30 wins in their home arena. Ballmer, the richest owner in the NBA with a net worth over $100 billion, was understandably willing to spend a little extra to bring some of that home comfort to Ball Arena.

Clippers fans have shown out during the Intuit Dome’s inaugural year. Opposing players have seemed visibly affected by the 51-row “Wall” section at times this season, particularly when shooting free throws. The Game 7 gift may have been Ballmer’s way of thanking the fans for their year-long support.
