Even fans were left out of breath following the slobber knocker that was Game 2 of the first-round series between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets.
The Clippers survived an absolute thriller Monday against the Nuggets, winning 105-102 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo. Unlike the series opener, Game 2 did not need overtime to settle the result. But the game was not short on drama.
Nuggets star Jamal Murray sank a huge three-pointer to tie the game at 100 with two minutes to play. Norman Powell answered with a three of his own after the Clippers stole the ball in the backcourt.

THIS GAME IS UNREAL!

Powell’s primal scream felt like it had extra oomph on it, given that he had gotten into an altercation with Murray earlier in the contest.
Kawhi Leonard sealed the deal late. He scored the dagger jumper in the final minute and also got a crucial steal off a wayward pass from Nikola Jokic. Leonard even closed out on Jokic’s desperation three in the final seconds.

Monday’s game was about as close as a playoff game could get. Neither team ever led by more than eight points as both sides traded literal and figurative blows all game long.
Fans were all in agreement that the Nuggets-Clippers series has been a masterpiece of postseason play that spectators could not avert their gaze from.

Leonard got the better of the Nuggets on Monday. The Klaw looked like his 2019 self, going off for 39 points on an unbelievable 15/19 shooting clip. Expect more fireworks to come as the series shifts to Los Angeles.
