Fresh off an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors, Danny Green could be headed back to play in Texas.
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported Sunday that Green is a “prime” target for the Dallas Mavericks but noted that indications are Green wants to wait on Kawhi Leonard’s decision before making a commitment.
Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News also said that talks between Green and the Mavs are “heating up.”
Green, a skilled but inconsistent 3-and-D player, played his previous eight seasons with the San Antonio Spurs before being traded to Toronto last year. He did mention recently however that he is interested in a Raptors return.
Leonard’s decision is not expected to come very soon, but we may have a hint of where Green might end up if his longtime teammate does leave Toronto.
