Daryl Morey throws shade at Russell Westbrook MVP candidacy
The campaign for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award is well and truly underway.
Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted a comment Saturday in support of James Harden — a comment that rather obviously doubles as shade at Russell Westbrook.
If we might make someone MVP because they have hit a random combo of numbers then why not this random combo? https://t.co/HnAEvNHTfo

Westbrook could put together a 30-10-10 season, which is driving his MVP candidacy. Morey is pretty clearly trying to pump up his own player’s credentials with this tweet.
The problem? Westbrook is only 46 assists away from joining Harden in that category so Morey might not be able to claim this as evidence much longer.
Now we’ll see if Westbrook himself sees fit to respond to Morey the same way he responded to the last guy who voiced his support for Harden.
