Report: David Fizdale, Ettore Messina top candidates for Hornets job
The Charlotte Hornets are beginning to line up interviews for their vacant head coaching job.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina and former Memphis Grizzlies coach David Fizdale are the first two candidates poised for interviews with the Hornets, who are looking to replace the fired Steve Clifford.

Fizdale may be the favorite, but he’ll have his choice of jobs — he’s already spoken to both the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks. Messina, meanwhile, has been stepping in for Gregg Popovich in the Spurs’ playoff series while the head coach is away.
