David West agrees to sign with Golden State for veteran’s minimum
Those darn Warriors have done it again.
According to a report by David Aldridge of NBA.com on Tuesday, All-Star big man David West has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors for the veteran’s minimum.

West is 35 years old but was productive in a bench capacity for the Spurs last season with averages of 7.1 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game in just 18.0 minutes per game. As a scorer and a screener, the Xavier product will be a big upgrade for Golden State’s second unit over Festus Ezeli and Anderson Varejao, both of whom are unrestricted free agents.
There was some uncertainty over West’s NBA future, but once again he will be taking less money to prioritize winning a championship (something he still has yet to do after 13 years in the league). West still has a lot left in the tank to offer the Warriors and now gives them enviable roster depth from top-to-bottom. Sometimes, it just ain’t fair.
