Watch: DeMar DeRozan gets huge ovation in return to Toronto
Toronto Raptors fans have nothing but love for DeMar DeRozan.
DeRozan made his return to Toronto on Friday night for the first time since he was traded for Kawhi Leonard during the offseason. DeRozan was greeted with a rousing standing ovation from the Raptors fans. Since he was oddly introduced second as part of the San Antonio Spurs’ lineup, DeRozan’s ovation carried through the introduction of the other three starters, plus coach Gregg Popovich.

DeRozan was a fan favorite in Toronto and instrumental in their rise into an Eastern Conference contender, and he never wanted to leave town. It’s understandable that he’d get quite the reaction — a very different reaction to the one the man he was traded for got when he returned to his former home.
