DeMarcus Cousins is likely to return in January, according to a report.
Cousins signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors over the offseason, even though they knew he would miss the beginning of the season to recover from a torn Achilles’ tendon suffered in January. He has been rehabbing and getting ready to make his Warriors debut, ramping things up in practice and even dunking on Kevin Durant.
In his New York Times newsletter this week, Marc Stein reported that “all signs point to a January return” for Cousins. Perhaps the biggest clue about Cousins’ return will come if he begins playing in the G League, which was said to be a likely part of his return process.
The Warriors lost their starting center Damian Jones to a pectoral injury and are thin at center. They plan to play Draymond Green at the position while Jones and Cousins are out.
