Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been the subject of trade rumors for multiple seasons now, and he’s gotten used to batting away questions about them.
His latest explanation is an interesting one: the incessant rumors are spawned by teams that want to acquire him.
“It is what it is,” Cousins said of the trade rumors, via A. Sherrod Blakely of CSN New England. “Most of the rumors come from people who want me on their team. It doesn’t bother me.”
The rumors have lessened slightly since coach George Karl’s departure, but they haven’t gone away entirely. That said, there’s reason to believe that Cousins has someone in his corner who really doesn’t want him traded, and may prevent it.
