Dennis Schroder confronts fan who taunted Ben Simmons
Dennis Schroder confronted a fan on Friday night who had taunted his teammate, Ben Simmons.
The Brooklyn Nets lost 116-101 to the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center in Orlando, Fla., on Friday night. A video went viral on Saturday showing what went on in the tunnel area as the Nets were getting ready to take the court.
The video shows a fan calling Simmons “trash.”
Simmons then retorted, “why didn’t you say it when I was there, p–sy.”
If you thought that would be the end of the incident, you would be wrong.
The video showed Schroder, who is in his second season with the Nets, walking back toward the group of fans and asking to be directed to the person who was talking sh-t to Simmons. After being directed to the fan who name-called Simmons, Schroder went over and talked with the fan.
A crowd developed around the area, with players and security gathering around. Things eventually cleared out, and the Nets’ players made their way to the court.
Fans may feel comfortable trash-talking players, but they apparently can’t get away with doing it around Schroder.
