Dillon Brooks apparently had another run-in with the law.
The Phoenix Suns swingman Brooks was pulled over by police shortly after midnight on Jan. 12, TMZ Sports reported Tuesday. According to an incident report, Brooks was traveling 85 mph in a 45 zone, resulting in the stop.
Brooks was reportedly cited for reckless driving and for exceeding the speed limit by over 20 mph. He was allowed to leave in his car after being cited however and is now set for a court appearance on the matter later this month.
The Suns had just played at home against the Washington Wizards a few hours earlier on Jan. 11 (a 112-93 victory). That would seemingly indicate that the Brooks speeding incident occurred in the Phoenix area. You can read TMZ Sports’ full report on the situation here.
Brooks was later arrested for DUI in a separate incident on March 6 in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was released from jail without immediately being charged after reportedly blowing a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test (though the arrest was said to be marijuana-related).
The former All-Defensive selection Brooks, 30, is having a career year for the Suns, averaging 20.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He has not played for the team since Feb. 21 however due to a broken left hand injury.
