Dillon Brooks is known for stirring up drama on the court, but now he is dealing his own drama off the court.
The new Phoenix Suns swingman Brooks has filed for a restraining order against ex-girlfriend Heather Andrews, according to a report by TMZ. In the TRO filed this week in Los Angeles, Brooks alleges that Andrews destroyed his belongings, hacked into his social media accounts, threatened his mother, and once even threatened to cut off his fingers “one by one.”
Brooks and Andrews have two children together (ages 5 and 2). The former stated in his court filing this week that he met the latter in 2018 at a Las Vegas nightclub and that her alleged harassment began months later (after she became pregnant with their first child).
The former All-Defensive selection Brooks says that Andrews regularly sent him “emotionally abusive” text messages, often filled with threats. Brooks also claims that Andrews vandalized his Memphis home in 2022 by writing the phrase “You suck b—h” on the mantle of his fireplace.
Brooks’ TRO filing comes after Andrews filed for her own restraining order against Brooks less than a year ago, claiming harassment and threats on Brooks’ part. A judge in Los Angeles is reportedly expected to hear arguments from both sides in late July. You can read TMZ’s full report on the situation here.
The 29-year-old Brooks, who was drafted in 2017, was included as part of the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade between the Suns and the Houston Rockets earlier this month. Last season for the Rockets, Brooks, who is in the middle of a four-year, $86 million contract, averaged 14.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
Brooks usually only makes the headlines for his jester-like antics during games. But now he is in the news for a situation that he would rather not be in with regard to his personal life.
