Doc Rivers is not worried about the effect that new acquisition Marcus Morris will have on his team’s locker room.
Speaking with the media on Saturday, LA Clippers head coach Doc Rivers dismissed the character concerns surrounding the veteran forward.
“A lot of research goes into when you make a trade, especially with this team and where we’re trying to go,” said Rivers, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic. “You can’t take any chances. You have to make sure guys are a good fit … All the intel we had was very positive.

Rivers also said that he spoke to a number of Morris’ former coaches, including Brad Stevens and David Fizdale.
Doc Rivers said he recently spoke to some of Marcus Morris' previous coaches, including Brad Stevens and David Fizdale.
"You have to make sure guys are a good fit," Rivers said. "Coaches and ex-players like him — love him, as a matter of fact."

The 30-year-old Morris is averaging 19.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on 43.9 percent from deep this season and will also add size and versatility on the defensive end. But he has gained a bit of a reputation for volatility and was recently in the news for making some negative remarks about women.
Rivers has already had to deny reports of bad chemistry on his team, but he clearly does not think that Morris’ addition will be a problem in that regard.
