Marcus Morris apologizes on Twitter for negative comments about women
Marcus Morris apologized on Twitter Wednesday night for his comments to the media criticizing Jae Crowder by comparing his opponent to a woman.
Morris and Crowder were ejected at the end of the Knicks-Grizzlies game at Madison Square Garden for their roles in a skirmish in the final minute.
After the game, Morris took a dig at Crowder, saying the Grizzlies forward had “female tendencies on the court.”
Though Morris intended to criticize Crowder, he also swept up half the population in his comparison, suggesting that females are lesser and softer. Morris apologized for the comparison and said he did not intend to disrespect them.
I apologize for using the term “female tendencies” I have the upmost respect for women and everything they mean to us. It was a Heat of the moment response and I never intended for any Women to feel as though in anyway I’m disrespecting them. Again I apologize with my comments.

Morris’ comments are reflective of a mentality that is trying to be changed — one where women are viewed as lesser than men. The timing of his remarks is especially poor considering all the positive attention the late Kobe Bryant brought to women’s basketball.
