After Sunday’s victory by the Warriors over the Rockets, Draymond Green was asked a question by a reporter that he had absolutely no intention of answering. Instead, Green called out the reporter for what was a pretty ridiculous question.
Last week, the Houston area was pummeled with rain, resulting in widespread flooding. The estimated damage total is in the billions and lives were lost. While it has bee a difficult time for residents of the area, a reporter attempted to relate te horrible events of the past week with the Warriors’ play during the two games in Houston.
Green wanted no parts of it, though. He fired back at the reporter telling him he’s not going to get the controversial statement he’s looking for.
Asking the questions once is bad enough. However, Green pointed out the same reporter asked a question along the same lines at practice as well.
Athletes sometimes get criticized for being surly with the media, but it’s tough to find fault with Green’s response and tone in this instance. The question was clearly out of line. Someone else may have chosen to not answer in this way. However, Green is rarely shy when in front of a microphone and his blunt honesty on Sunday can be appreciated.
