Enes Kanter cracked a joke about missing the Portland Trail Blazers’ game in Toronto on Friday night.
Kanter did not travel with his team to Canada for the game due to concerns about his safety. He joked on Twitter that he was out due to “dictatorship.”

Kanter is from Turkey and has spoken out against the country’s current president and regime. He has had his passport revoked in 2017 and shared issues his family was enduring.
In January, he did not travel with the Knicks to a game in London due to fears over his safety.
