ESPN forgot the NBA wanted the Pacers to win Game 5

SportsCenter-Heat-Finals

The Indiana Pacers were able to defeat the Miami Heat in Game 5 on Wednesday night to keep their season alive. After the Heat took a commanding 3-1 series lead on Monday, many — myself included — expected them to wrap up the series. It looks like some of the programmers at SportsCenter did as well.

As you can see from the screenshot that Busted Coverage passed along, ESPN had a graphic that read “Heat back to the Finals” on Thursday morning. What the folks at the World Wide Leader must have forgotten is that the NBA wanted to extend the series, hence why LeBron James was called for a series of bogus fouls and became a non-factor in the game.

Instead of heading “back to the Finals,” the Heat are heading back to Miami. I’ve never been one for conspiracies, but I don’t see the Heat losing at home.
