Isaiah Thomas’ confidence in his game is still through the roof, but many fans aren’t buying that he could dominate overseas like he seems to believe.
The two-time NBA All-Star recently opened up about his desire to continue his playing career outside the NBA. Thomas, who hasn’t seen action in the NBA since the 2024 playoffs with the Phoenix Suns, said he’s interested in playing abroad, confident he could “cook” anyone over the Atlantic – or somewhere else.
I want to hoop overseas for a year!!! I want that experience! And to cook them boys over that water 😂

Several fans who saw Thomas’ post flamed him for his overt braggadocio.

Love the confidence, IT. Delusional, but still love it. I hope someone gives you a chance.

Thomas’ best days are way behind him now. At 37 and with a notable injury history, the former Washington Huskies star could have already played his last game in the NBA, but overseas leagues offer him a chance to play competitive basketball.
He probably also has enough marketability for a top team in Europe or elsewhere to try to sign him and fill the stands.
Thomas has played in 556 NBA games with career averages of 17.5 points, 4.8 assistsa nd 2.4 rebounds. His best years in the league were with the Boston Celtics. During a stretch from 2015-16 to 2016-17, Thomas averaged 25.5 points on 44.6% shooting from the field and 37.1% from behind the arc, 6.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds over 158 games with Boston.
