Veteran NBA guard Cole Anthony is headed to the land down under.
The former Orlando Magic standout has signed a one-year contract with NBL team Melbourne United in Australia. The team announced the news on Tuesday, calling Anthony the “final piece” to complete the team’s roster heading into the upcoming NBL season.

The Magic selected Anthony with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft. The North Carolina alum played five seasons for Orlando, averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists during that span.
Anthony’s best season was as a sophomore during the 2021-22 campaign, when he averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in a starting role for the Magic. He transitioned into a sixth-man role for the rest of his NBA career, including his lone season with the Milwaukee Bucks this past year.
At 26 years old, Anthony still has plenty of time to build himself back up for an NBA comeback. Dominating in his one-year stay with Melbourne United would be the first step toward getting back in the league.
