Center Hassan Whiteside will formally become a free agent in a matter of hours, and he sounds as if he has his eye on two teams in particular.
Whiteside, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, is focused on the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, and may decide quickly on his next destination.

Whiteside is one of the premier rim protectors available in free agency, and is expected to draw interest from a number of teams. The Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly set to pursue him aggressively, but it doesn’t sound as if they’re on his radar. That may be because they can’t offer the organizational stability that Whiteside is said to desire. Whiteside is in a pretty good spot. There are worse places to be than choosing between Pat Riley and Mark Cuban.
