Isaiah Thomas sounds off on Spurs fans booing Kawhi Leonard
Isaiah Thomas thinks San Antonio Spurs fans got it all wrong in booing Kawhi Leonard in his return to San Antonio.
On Thursday, Leonard made his return to the place where he spent the first seven seasons of his NBA career. As expected, he was showered with boos during player introductions and throughout the game.
While Spurs fans were letting Leonard have it, Denver Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas sounded off, saying a different perspective should be examined.
That man won a championship for y’all and u boo him?? That ain’t it!

Take the “fan” hat off for once and put the “player” hat on and see if you will still boo a player…

Let us come to your job and BOO you for 2hrs for you looking out for YOURSELF when teams time after time do what’s best for THEM!

Thomas is obviously looking through the situation through different colored lenses than the fans. And, his point is a valid one. However, like they say, fan is short for “fanatic”, and sometimes being rational isn’t part of the description of being a fan.
