Jalen Brunson has unintentionally proven just how far the public perception is between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
The Knicks star was among the invitees for a World Cup after-party hosted by Justin Bieber, held last Sunday in New York City. A photographer captured the moment Brunson arrived with his wife and skipped the guest list check-in entirely.
In the clip, Brunson walked right past Nets star Michael Porter Jr., who appeared to have to wait for security to verify his name on the list.

The Knicks are expected to sign Brunson to a full max extension next summer after he left money on the table back in 2024.
Brunson could probably walk into any building in the city unaccosted after leading the Knicks to a championship last month. Porter, who was far and away the Nets’ best player last season, probably doesn’t have even one percent of Brunson’s pull in New York right now.

It’s worth noting that Porter was accompanied by Peyton Watson, who’s been embroiled in testy contract discussions with the Denver Nuggets. Brunson probably won’t have to do any negotiating to secure his deal when the time comes.
