Jason Kidd has great explanation for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s lack of recognition
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 22.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game as a 21-year-old in the NBA. So why isn’t he getting more recognition? Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd has a theory.
Kidd was asked on Sunday why Antetokounmpo hasn’t been receiving more recognition around the league and replied that it’s because his name is hard to pronounce, per Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Well, Kidd has a point. You don’t get a nickname like “The Alphabet” without a damn good reason for it.
Antetokounmpo, who has been fully unleashed as a point-center of sorts this season, is also averaging 1.9 steals and 2.1 blocks per game on 51.4 percent shooting from the field. As such, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the league is forced to learn the proper pronunciation of his name.
