Jaxson Hayes issues apology for profane video
Jaxson Hayes is backing away from a profane video he made over not being selected to the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge.
Hayes, a rookie for the New Orleans Pelicans, was not one of the players included in this year’s game between the top first- and second-year NBA players. That led to him releasing a profane video in which he essentially dared the NBA to fine him for his criticism.
Late Friday, Hayes thought better of that video and issued an apology for it.

Hayes’ apology may come too late to insulate him from NBA discipline, not to mention the hit to his reputation from some fans that will come from it. It’s a pretty good example of what not to do when put in his situation.
The Rising Stars Challenge has led to some pretty angry responses this year. Some of the frustration may be understandable, but the reactions have been over the top at times.
