Jayson Tatum takes swipe at Heat during Celtics’ parade

Jayson Tatum during an interview

Jayson Tatum has finally earned the right to flex on the rest of the NBA, and he wasted no time doing just that during the Boston Celtics’ championship celebration on Friday.

Tatum was interviewed by Brian Scalabrine of NBC Sports Boston just before the Celtics boarded the duck boats for their victory parade through the streets of Boston. The five-time All-Star was asked about flying to Miami after Game 5 to celebrate winning the NBA title and whether that trip was “a little sweeter” than past ones.

Tatum smiled and said the trips to Miami are “always easy.”

Brian Scalabrine: “You guys have been on a lot of hard-fought trips to Miami, was this one a little sweeter?”

Jayson Tatum: “They’re always easy.” 😅 pic.twitter.com/EvuhSrUWD6

It is probably safe to say Tatum would not have made a comment like that a year ago. The Celtics lost to the Heat in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. Though, they played better on the road in that series and lost three games at home.

Between the shot at the Heat and the social media post Tatum had this week, it seems like the Celtics’ best player is very relieved to have gotten over the hump.
